THE CHALLENGE
Intuit Movement Studio had a passionate community — but no signature event that captured its personality, showcased its performers, or strengthened its brand culture.
Traditional dance recitals/showcases didn’t fit the values of the studio or the audience.
The challenge was to create a high-energy, community-driven flagship experience that:
united dancers, families, and the broader community
created a revenue-driving annual anchor event
matched the elevated brand and creative identity of the studio
scaled year over year without overwhelming internal resources

A live-performance spectacle that felt more like a live game show than a recital — and became a cultural event in the city.

This was a true end-to-end production role spanning strategy, creative, logistics, team leadership, and execution.
THE APPROACH
I built the show as a complete experience ecosystem — not just a performance.
1. Experience Design
Defined the concept, tone, pacing, and emotional arc of the night, shaping it as a hybrid between a variety show, lip sync competition, and festival-style entertainment.
2. Creative Direction
Produced all creative elements including:
show format + run of show
opening and finale concepts
choreography direction
projection and audio cue design
costume direction
narrative elements + emcee scripting
Everything was built to feel cohesive, energetic, and brand-aligned.
3. Participant Journey
Developed a clear, structured path for performers:
auditions
rehearsals
costume guidance
stage blocking
technical previews
backstage systems
The process made performers feel confident and supported, regardless of experience level.
4. Production Systems
Built repeatable, scalable systems including:
casting workflow
scoring and judging protocols
stage management and cue sheets
backstage traffic flow
tech booth communication
safety + performer coordination
volunteer and crew operations
This allowed the event to scale from a small showcase to a multi-night, sold-out production.
5. Brand + Marketing Execution
